About the event
ABOUT THE PROJECT: During the school year, youth experiencing homelessness often face barriers to attending school, including lack of school supplies, clothing, and shoes. Each year, we host a Back to School event to help remove those barriers and set youth up for success in the new school year. Last year, the event served over 400 youth and provided new backpacks, school supplies, clothing, and brand-new shoes to youth in need
VOLUNTEER ROLE: Volunteers will assist youth in choosing the items they want and need. We aim to make this a fun and empowering experience, allowing youth to pick the styles and colors they like most at each station. Volunteers will work one-on-one with youth to support them throughout this process. We will also have volunteers helping restock supplies to ensure a wide variety of items are available.
